Here’s what young people have had to say about Travelling Ahead

“Its about us doing things our way and not having adults dictate everything we do. We’re helping young Gypsies, Roma and Travellers to make the changes that they want to see happen”

“It gets us off the site and it gives us an education – one of the things we have done is we’ve built up a good relationship with Wales’ Children’s Commissioner through being Community Ambassadors – we represent the community of Gypsies and Travellers”

“We also went to a conference and I felt proud that I was there representing Gypsies and Travellers and training teachers about our culture and our lives”

“The things that I enjoy most is the way Travelling Ahead gets all the young Gypsy children to meet more young Gypsies from around Wales. It makes us learn more about the rights and education and that there are many situations that Gypsy, Roma and Traveller don’t understand, things that they could change –  it might not get change now but could have an effect on the younger generation”
