Travelling Ahead held its 8th National Forum in 2016, now taking place once a year this event is the only national meeting for young Gypsies, Roma and Travellers.
Over 200 young people have come along since 2010 and met with politicians, commissioners, councillors and activists, professionals and campaigners from the GRT community from around the UK. Young people have talked about their achievements and hopes for the future.
Films, reports and media guides have been launched and young people have debated, and discussed bullying, sites, what they think about Big Fat Gypsy Wedding, education and hate crime.
Young people have also leant circus skills, drumming, floristry, film making, music and jewellery design and celebrated their achievements from their local areas through films, songs, presentations and talks.
