The Power of Words – Holocaust Memorial Day 2018


For the third year running the Cross Party Group for Gypsies and Travellers in Wales hosted an event to commemorate the victims of the holocaust with a powerful artwork made by young people from Gypsy, Roma and Traveller communities across Wales and readings of Damian Le Bas’ poem ‘We’re Still Here’ from the The Oldest Show in the World

Attended by around 40 people of all ages including Wales National Assembly Members and Julie Morgan AM  as the chair of the Cross Party Group;  the focal point was the collaborative artwork made by young people brought together by Travelling Ahead and the SEWREC based Association of Gypsies and Travellers Wales on this years Holocaust Memorial Day Trust’s theme of The Power of Words with photographers, artist and carpenter all volunteering their skills to achieve the end result.
