Young people’s recommendations submitted to inquiry at National Assembly for Wales

16-12-2016

Travelling Ahead recently gave evidence to the National Assembly for Wales’ Children, Young People & Education Committee who are looking at the Welsh Government’s decision to remove the ring-fenced Gypsy and Traveller Education Grant and amalgamate it into the new Education Improvement Grant.

The Committee asked about young peoples views and experiences and we were able to give them an excellent list of recommendations that young people had come up with as part of our Good Practice in Education Report

On January 12th 2017 the Cabinet Secretary for Education in Wales, Kirsty Williams AM will be questioned on how the new Education Improvement Grant is supporting Gypsy, Roma and Traveller children into education – you can read more about the inquiry or watch the evidence sessions yourself by keeping an eye on the Committee’s  website here
